Looking at the main stories from here in Taiwan this morning ......
Taiwan's under-12 baseball team grabbed its fourth straight win in the 2015
Under-12s Baseball World Cup Monday - routing Russia 14-nothing.
The mercy rule was brought into effect and the game was called in the 5-th
inning at Tainan Stadium.
Taiwan remains undefeated to top Group A with four wins.
The team plays Venezuela today.

The Formosa Plastics Group says it will step up inspections of its
procurement processes in response to a bribery scandal involving dozens of
its employees.
The company yesterday confirmed that 25 of its employees have been named in a
corruption scandal.
The 25 employees include Formosa Plastics general-manager Lin Chen-rong, and
they allegedly took bribes from a company to ensure it had an exclusive deal
to supply Formosa Plastics with P-V-C bags
The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office yesterday announced that it has begun
its own investigation into the case.

Deputy Education Minister Chen De-hwa says his office will not withdraw
lawsuits against the students who illegally entered the ministry building
last week during a protest against changes to the school curriculum
guidelines
According to Chen, closed circuit television footage of the incident shows
students damaging government property and the students who broke-in to the
ministry were clearly in violation of the law.
However, Chen says his office will offer legal assistance to students who can
prove mitigating reasons behind their actions.
The deputy education minister also says he welcomes an independent
investigation into the matter.

Academia Sinica researcher and former Sunflower movement leader Huang
Guo-chang says he plans to run for a legislative seat for the New Power Party
in New Taipei's 12-th constituency.
According to Huang, the constituency includes Xi-Zhi, Ruei-Fang, Ping-Xi and
Gongliao districts.
Speaking to reporters, the former Sunflower student movement leader said he
opted to run because he believes the collusion between government and
businesses has led to failed governance, increased national debt and a
failed pension system.
Huang says the D-P-P will not be nominating a candidate for the constituency
and Huang will be running on the pan-green ticket in next year's legislative
election.
In international news ...
The Greek government is facing criticism following revelations a former
finance minister formed a secret committee to plan for the possible
conversion of euros into drachmas.

Kazakhstan is set to become the 162-nd member of the World Trade Organization
after the Geneva-based body formally approved the country's membership
Monday.

The city of Boston and the U-S Olympic Committee have agreed to end a bid for
the 2024 Olympics due to a lack of public support.
The U-S and Turkey are working on military plans to clear the Islamic State
militants from parts of northern Syria.

The Saudi-led coalition launched new airstrikes in at least two Yemeni
provinces Monday.
The air strikes brought to an end a humanitarian ceasefire that started at
midnight the previous day.
The coalition of mainly Gulf Arab sates has been waging an air campaign since
March against the Iran-supported Shiite rebels.
Monday's air strikes targeted the strategic military base of al-Anad and the
port city of Aden.
The head of South Africa's police force has slammed a inquiry which blamed
officers for the killing of 34 miners in 2012.
According to the country's police chief, police management did not have
"murderous intent" on the day the striking miners were shot at the Marikana
mine.
President Jacob Zuma is under pressure to sack the police chief following the
findings of the inquiry.
United Nations election observers in Burundi say last week's election that
won President Pierre Nkurunziza a controversial third term took place in an
environment that was "not conducive for an inclusive, free and credible
electoral process."
The statement notes that while last Tuesday's election was relatively
peaceful, the media was restricted and freedom of expression and assembly was
"severely impaired."
Nkurunziza has faced controversy over whether his new term is constitutional.
And finally ...
Medical examiners in California say initial tests on Bobbi Kristina Brown
have found no significant injuries and no obvious underlying cause of death.
The 22-year-old Brown died Sunday.
She had been in a coma since being found face down and unresponsive in a
bathtub at her home on January 31-st.
She was the only daughter of American singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown
and had performed as a singer herself.
